Return to Hoi An

This past weekend we took off for a two-day return trip to nearby Hoi An, which happened to coincide with a festival to celebrate the birth of the Buddha. It was a magical weekend. On Friday we visited the town's famous tailors and had clothes made for weddings and new jobs, and in the evening we met up with our friends Dan Jones and Quynh Samila for the festivities. The old town shut most of the lights off at dark and the river became illumined with laterns and tiny candles flickering across the water. The four of us piled into a over-sized punt and floated down the river as little paper boats carrying candle wishes filled the horizon.

Fabulous pics! My favourite is the bike against the blue door and yellow wall - wonderful. The silks look glorious.
